I too have had no problem with a twin groove Furlex although I only ever use one groove. I have had the bearings replaced in the bottom unit however. I no longer carry a 150% but just a fairly new 140% on the roller. I also have a moveable inner forestay on which I can carry a hanked on No 3 (115%) and strong winds No 4 jib (with high clew). The inner forestay has its own halyard and separate fairleads on the tracks so if I am expecting heavy weather on route I lay out the appropriate smaller sail and sheets before I start. When heavy weather hits, all I have to do is roll up the 140% completely and dart forward to release the tied down hanked sail before returning to the safety of the cockpit to launch the smaller sail.
