Problem experienced by Neil in replacing the toilet is a common problem for all Sadlers. This arises because the bolts for securing the toilet on to the GRP plinth pass through the plinth into captivated nuts. Clearly, if the hole positions are different, there are no nuts for securing.

Best solution is to cut an aperture hole in the front side of the plinth, so that you can get access to the underside for fixing nuts to new bolts. You can then make a teak pad to cover up the aperture and secure with stainless steel self-tappers. The advantage of this is that you will always have access to the underside of this area. Be careful not to make the cut-out so large that you weaken the strength of the plinth, but it does need to be large enough to get your hands in for dealing with the nuts.

Good luck with this job, Mike
