My Sadler 32 was never fitted with a bullseye. I find I can prevent foul ups by altering the balance between forestay tension (use the backstay wheel) and genoa halyard tension. In essence the forestay should be at least as taut as the halyard.
If it binds in use, try slackening the halyard slightly. This can even work when the sail is furled or part reefed.
