Realised you asked about teak capping and deck leaks.
I had a full length delivered and then broke it trying to bend it into place. So ended up setting in about a 6 foot piece to sort out the mess. The screws would not hold well in the jointing compound between hull and deck and so the capping is really held on by the Seakaflex sealant/adhesive.
I had leaks from the "U" bolts along both sides of my 34. I had to remove them all and reseal them. This meant cutting slots in the GRP headlining to get a spanner onto the nuts, after that it was relatively easy.
