SADLERS & STARLIGHTS.  We now have substantial and consistent demand for Sadlers and Starlights across the whole range, particularly those built by Sadler International from 1989.  Potential vendors should contact us for further discussion, since we have buyers ready to proceed.  We hope you enjoy browsing through our Brokerage section, where you will find a range of Sadlers and Starlights at various ages and prices.   Please seek more information on boats that interest you.  We are regularly updating this section and are in touch with a number of boats soon to come on the market.  Urgently required are Bowman-built Starlight 39s and 35s (1995 or later).  There is also strong demand for the later Sadler 34s (with SJ keel), Sadler 29s (1989 or later) - must be excellent condition and will attract appropriately high sale price.

SPECIALISED REPAIRS/REFURBISH.  We now have splendid facilities at Baltic Wharf Boatyard, Totnes for refurbishment work prior to sale - this last winter, we had 30 Starlights and Sadlers in the yard for repairs and refurbishment - can also carry out osmosis work, rig work, engineering and all teak replacements.  A popular service now attracting Sadlers and Starlights from the East to the West Coast is our comprehensive refurbishment and repair work, specifically to owner's requirements.  We are also now extending this repairs service to other boats (motor or sail) local to Dartmouth.

BROKERAGE LIST.  Our current brokerage list is shown below and please contact us for details of any of these boats in which you may be interested. Alternatively, if you cannot find what you are looking for, then we will probably know where to find it!  We have written a brief commentary on each boat listed, so as to provide more information and we can supply a full Sales Specification if required.  Every few days, we update this commentary, to suit boat detail and availability.

EUROPEAN.  We are experiencing increased interest from buyers outside UK, particularly with the favourable exchange rate Euro/Pound Sterling.  All asking prices have been progressively reduced by 10-15% over the past 6 months or so and a further current reduction of 20-30%, as a result of exchange rate movements.  We can organise Surveys for you, using members of the YDSA (Yacht Designers & Surveyors Association) and also arrange delivery to a European port of your choice.

PRIVATE BUYERS.   To an increasing extent, buyers of Sadlers and Starlights and Moodys who are progressing with a private purchase, or indeed through another broker are asking us to advise and assist in this situation. With our wide knowledge of these boats and experience of surveys and subsequent negotiation, we now offer a service costing 1% purchase price plus vat.  For this, we consider the value, assist with the offer and negotiation after survey.

MOTORBOATS.  We are the specialist broker for Wessex Marine of Poole for the Sea Saga 26 and 29 from Norway (the yachtsman's semi-displacement motor boat) and generally have one or two available.  We are also attracting other similar boats such as Nimbus and Albatross from Finland.  Give us a call for more detail.  We are now extending our repairs service into Moodys, where boats can be brought into the River Dart, our speciality being boats being built through the 80s and 90s.  We can arrange delivery by road or sea from all parts of UK, into Dartmouth.

BROKERAGE COMMENTARY

• Starlight 35 1995 @ £75,000  fin keel - Totnes, Devon  (1025) 

We are pleased to be dealing with the sale of this splendidly equipped Starlight 35.  Built by Bowman and still with original owner, this yacht is comprehensively equipped for blue-water cruising.  Currently being delivered from Antigua and will be in Dartmouth, middle to end July.

This was one of the first Starlight 35s to be fitted with the Carbo-spars unstayed rig - has now been developed with a Pro-furl in-boom furling arrangement (2008), with running backstays to improve genoa shape when close hauled.  All sail controls lead aft to the cockpit.  This rig is considered to be very efficient, with Harken headsail furling (2008).  Rig installation designed and improved by Stephen Jones and owner has reported completely trouble-free sailing over many years.

Engine power is Volvo 2030, with Brunton auto-prop and comprehensive electrics and drive arrangements.

Interior accommodation is sumptuous, with Mark-2 design features, upgraded toilet, recent Isotherm refrigeration, stainless steel holding tank, Eberspacher heating and sophisticated Kenwood stereo player.

We believe this to be an exceptional 35, built by Bowman Yachts and enthusiastically managed by the current owner.  Early viewing advised - arrangements with Mike.

• Sadler 32 1992 @ £34,500 Stephen Jones deep fin keel - North West (955)

This is an excellent 32, built to a high specification and in good condition.  Detail woodwork is to craftsman standard by the original owner, who still owns the boat.  

Superb suit of sails by North, including fully battened mainsail, tri-radial furling genoa with 'step' construction.  Harken furling gear, also genecker and tri-radial spinnaker.  New canvas work with matching sprayhood, dodgers and sail cover.  

Deck fittings to a high standard with Anderson and Antal self-tail winches, plus spinlock clutches, with all sail controls led aft.  

Recent instrumentation with Navman, Furuno Gps, Raymarine autopilot and so on.  

Comprehensive domestic equipment with refrigeration, Eberspacher diesel heating and stainless steel water and fuel tanks.

• Sadler 29 1988 @ £25,500 bilge keel - Totnes, Devon (1050)

Used regularly and enthusiastically maintained.  Equipment has been upgraded and replaced on a regular basis.  Insurance survey carried out in 2008 and all recommendations carried out.  Vendors only selling due to purchasing larger yacht.

Standing rigging replaced 2007 (plus some running rigging).  Forehatch refurbished 2008.  Guardwires replaced 2007.  Crusader mainsail 2005.  Engine regularly serviced.  Tack Tick log/speed, echosounder and 360 degree wind.  Plastimo Neptune 2500 oven and Jabsco marine toilet - both new 2007.
